Raymond Weitekamp is the Founder and CEO of polySpectra, a startup with the mission to democratize advanced manufacturing through functional materials chemistry. In his spare time, Raymond is also a Principal Investigator at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he is working towards inexpensive energy-efficient windows. His interdisciplinary work is focused on the interactions of light with polymeric materials, including block copolymer photonic crystals and photoinitiated catalysis. While his interests are diverse, the common goal of his research is to apply fundamental scientific insights to challenges in sustainability, manufacturing and energy. Raymond was recently recognized with the distinction of Forbes “30-Under-30”.
